We’re excited to share that Raising Astoria was recently featured in The New York Groove!
The story, “Say what's up to Raising Astoria, the WhatsApp community that makes parenting less lonely,” takes a wonderful look at our community that has grown here in Astoria. From the everyday questions, recommendations, swaps, and advice shared in our WhatsApp groups to the book clubs, parents’ nights out, meetups, and friendships that happen beyond our phones.
What started as a few new moms getting together over coffee and pastries has grown into a community of more than 1,000 Astoria parents, connected through nearly 100 different WhatsApp groups. But the part we’re proudest of isn’t the numbers. It’s seeing parents find their people, neighbors help one another, kids grow up together, and Astoria feel just a little bit smaller and more connected.

a little less lonely, and we couldn’t ask for a better description of what we hope this community can be.
Most of all, this feature is really about all of you. Raising Astoria is what it is because so many local parents show up every day ready to ask a question, share a recommendation, lend a hand, organize a get-together, or simply make another parent feel welcome.
